History
Watsonia Heights Primary School is situated in the well established north-eastern suburb of Greensborough, in the city of Banyule, sixteen kilometres from Melbourne.
Opening in 1966, the school grew quickly with a peak enrolment of 914 students in 1970 and a low of 210 in 1995. The 2009 enrolment is 243.
Our school community strives to provide a positive, stimulating learning environment which caters for the needs of each student as they develop as individuals. Watsonia Heights has successfully implemented the Early Years Literacy program and Early Years Numeracy program.
In 2002 Watsonia Heights became an active member of the Grimshaw Innovation and Excellence Cluster. This middle years project investigated developing strategies to improve student engagement, as well as teaching and learning outcomes. Watsonia Heights adopted these innovations school wide.
In 2008 Watsonia Heights became a member of the Banyule Mini Cluster Network Group, which continues our focus on advancement in teaching practice and curriculum.
