School Council
Parents are essential participants of the Watsonia Heights Primary School council and help set key directions for the school. Their three crucial roles are developing the Strategic Plan, Annual Implementation Plan, approving the Annual budget and setting and reviewing policies. Elections are held every year in February or March.
The School Council has the working Sub-Committees of Building and Grounds, Community Links (which also includes canteen and Parents Association), Finance and Education.
The Watsonia Heights Primary School Community Links Sub -Committee are very active and run a variety of fund-raisers and events throughout the year, including Trivia Nights, Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls, students discos and much more!
Classroom Helpers
Classroom Helpers are an indispensible part of the Watsonia Heights Primary School community and do a variety of activities to assist in classroom learning. A Classroom Helper course is run annually for new parents.
Canteen
The Canteen opens for lunches on: Wednesday and Friday. Lunch Packs, sandwiches and all hot food MUST be ordered before 10:30am
Parent Helpers are always welcome; please speak to the canteen manager.
Canteen Policy
Working Bees
Working Bees organised by the Buildings and Grounds Sub-Committee help keep Watsonia Heights Primary School looking beautiful and are run two to three times a year on a weekend. They usually run in the mornings and participants are rewarded with a barbeque lunch.
School Banking
Students are encouraged to be responsible with their money at Watsonia Heights. A banking program, in conjunction with the Commonwealth Bank, runs Tuesdays.
Language Motor Program
Language Motor Program (L.M.P.) is a language and gross motor program run during term two and three for Preps. Parent helpers are trained and without their assistance the program could not run.
Excursions
Parent helpers, with comfortable shoes, are often needed for excursions and will be called for when needed.
