Interschool Sports
Interschool Sport on Fridays provides the opportunity for upper school students to compete against other local schools Summer sports takes place in Term one and Winter sport in Term two.
Summer sports include:
- Cricket
- Basketball
- Bat tennis
- Rounders
Winter sports include:
- Soccer
- Football
- Netball
- Softball
Swimming
This program gives all students the opportunity to learn to swim. The classes are taken by qualified staff at the heated Yarra Swim School pool throughout the year.
Term 1- Grade 5 / 6 intensive program
Terms 1 and 2- Grade 1 /2 weekly sessions
Term 3- Grade 3 / 4 weekly sessions
Term 4- Prep weekly sessions
The program is aimed at developing enjoyment, water safety, swimming strokes, diving and associated water skills.
Cross Country
Grade’s three to six participate in the house cross-country program, where students get to represent their house, (Banksia - Blue, Wattle - Yellow, Boronia - Green, and Waratah - Red) with the winning house awarded the house shield and the first three athletes in each age group awarded a medal.
The top ten athletes’ in each age group go onto the zone cross country event.
Athletics
An athletics program is run every Friday during Term 3 and includes hurdles, discus, triple jump, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400m, and 800m. Trials are completed and selected students compete in the Zone athletics at the end of term three.
